The Opportunity ...

Our Automated Guided Vehicle and Automated Systems Site in Leicester is looking for a

Senior Software Engineer . Reporting to our Senior Software Engineer, you will work with Electrical, Mechanical, and Installation Engineers led by our Project Managers. You will design, develop, and install our systems and provide after-market support. We would like someone to: Develop and implement software projects using the Microsoft Windows development environment using J Script, C#, XML/JSON, and a variety of ODBC/ADO compliant database packages and SQL Server. Develop software functional and design specifications. Specify and acquire project computer hardware and commercial software. Setup and configure Windows Server operating system for use in manufacturing production systems. Train customer personnel on the use of the system both remotely and on-site. Participate in the out-of-hours telephone hotline support. Hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree (B.S.) in a Computer Science or Engineering discipline where computing applications and development can be demonstrated. Be proficient in SQL programming and have prior programming experience in C++, Java, C#, or other equivalent languages. Experience with Web Development and Web Services is advantageous. Experience troubleshooting issues with users (Customer-facing). Hold a current/valid driver's license. Travel & Location Travel on short notice for up to 25% of the time, both domestic and international.
