As the most senior engineer of a small ‘skunkworks’ style AI team within our broader Product Engineering teams, you will work closely with our Director of Engineering, Head of Product, engineers, product managers, designers and stakeholders to help solve customers' problems where we think generative AI can help make a difference and directly impact their (and their dog's) daily lives.
This role is a hybrid role with three days a week in the office (Mon, Wed & Thurs) in West London.
In this role, you can expect to:
Work directly with stakeholders to iteratively and quickly ship improvements to AI tools, ranging from tooling to improve the efficiency our Customer Love team and help customers get answers quicker, to automation tooling for internal teams, to working closely with other teams to deliver digital product improvements using genAI (i.e re-imagining experiences with customers to be built from the ground up with genAI).
Constantly have an MVP mindset so we can test and learn quickly, shipping early versions of products to rapidly get feedback.
Work with our Director of Engineering every day directly on AI projects.
Work with our Head of Product to help shape the AI roadmap.
Gain real-world experience with cutting edge tools, deploying them at scale.
Truly embody our #DedicatedandDetermined value, taking on significant challenges with the promise of seeing incredible results.
A bit about you.
Strong customer-focused and product-minded approach to building software that is supported by interacting with customers to understand their needs and are used to prioritising outcomes and impact over all else.
Comfortable with ambiguity, adept at navigating product challenges, and actively input into shaping product vision. You thrive in early ideation stages, share work-in-progress (such as drafts or MVPs) to gather feedback when it's about 70% complete, and easily adapt based on input. You have a constant drive to ship products quickly and iterate on them.
Comfortable managing technical debt pragmatically with an ability to strategically balance resilience, testing, and documentation with making quick trade-offs in order to ship products that prioritise impact or implementation.
Passion for startups and small teams.
Obsessed with dogs!
