Negotiable, dependant on experience What you’ll be doing: Playing a key role in software engineering activities for the development and deployment of new products Understanding our customers’ challenging needs, developing, validating, and managing requirements Developing software applications and services and integrating the solutions within a diverse range of products and sub-systems Developing, testing and delivering info-centric solutions Taking accountability for technical work packages and verifying that customer needs are satisfied through qualification and test activities Working within a diverse group of engineers, providing guidance, and coaching to others Your skills and experiences: Essential: Expertise and understanding of Engineering lifecycles and System Engineering principles Experience of delivering IT solutions architecture Understanding of DevSecOps principles and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment pipeline and associated toolsets Proficiency in Agile toolsets e.g. Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and GIT Interfacing, APIs, and networking protocols (TCP/UDP) Proficient in software development languages and databases Desirable: Knowledge of the full IT stack .NET/Core, C#, Ansible Working to high standards of technical assurance and quality Relational databases (MySQL) on Windows/Linux platforms Benefits: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans and an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.
