We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our client's experienced team on a permanent basis, with the long-term potential for a technical leadership role. The role will involve supporting the development, integration, rollout, and support of complex software solutions, and you'll work on a hybrid basis, primarily out of the Milton Keynes office. A driver's license is essential for this role as you will be visiting client sites. You will work alongside a diverse group of customer representatives, solution architects, academic experts, and top software development companies to deliver impactful solutions, so excellent communication skills are paramount for this role.

Due to the exciting nature of the role and the projects you will be working on, you must hold active Security Clearance (SC) to be eligible and be a sole UK national. Key Responsibilities:

Lead and collaborate with a diverse team to deliver complex software systems. Support the architecture, management, and maintenance of client-centred solutions, including secure private cloud deployments. Engage in hands-on development, integration, and deployment of software solutions. Work with various programming paradigms, full-stack technologies, and open-source integration. Provide innovative solutions in a structured IT development environment. Manage software deployments and support across both company and client systems. What we need from you:

Proficiency in at least two back-end technologies (e.g., Java, Python) and experience with JavaScript and a front-end technology stack (ideally React). Experience with DevOps principles, secure software virtualisation (Docker), and API development. Experience in integrating open-source software and full-stack solutions. Hands-on experience in application design, API development, and full-stack software solutions. Expertise in both Linux and Microsoft environments. Practical knowledge of relational database technologies. Experience working in Agile and Scrum frameworks with exposure to DevOps in real-time projects. It would also be great if you had a 2:1 or higher in a numerate subject like Mathematics, Data Science, or Physics, along with experience in Scaled Agile and DevOps environments, particularly within the Public Sector or Defence, but this isn't essential! The chosen candidate will be an innovative self-starter who enjoys learning new technologies and applying them to solve challenges and be able to collaborate effectively across functions and build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders. My client is offering a salary of up to £70,000 plus benefits and career growth for this opportunity. If you are passionate about working on projects of national significance and want to bring your software engineer skills into a fast-paced environment that offers career growth opportunities, get in touch with me.
