We’re recruiting a Senior Software Test Engineer for a world-renowned organisation at the forefront of the global defence and security industry. This is your opportunity to work on innovative projects that directly impact national security and defence systems. About the Role: As a Senior Software Test Engineer, you’ll lead the testing and verification of advanced radar software systems. Working with a collaborative team of engineers, you will manage both manual and automated testing processes, ensuring that software meets rigorous quality and performance standards. What You’ll Be Doing: Managing the creation and execution of manual and automated tests to validate software functionality and behaviour. Overseeing the generation of Software Functional Proving Builds, using components under configuration control. Leading software verification and validation activities, ensuring alignment with project requirements. Producing and maintaining essential testing documentation, including Software Test Plans (STPs), Software Test Reports (STRs), and the Verification Cross-Reference Index (VCRI). Collaborating with stakeholders to support continuous product improvement and quality assurance. About You: We’re looking for someone with a strong technical foundation, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for ensuring software quality in complex systems. Essential Skills & Experience: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language and familiarity with high-level design methodologies (e.g., UML). Comprehensive understanding of the software lifecycle (e.g., Waterfall, Agile) and associated standards (e.g., ISO/IEC/IEEE 12207). Hands-on experience with configuration management tools and processes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to construct logical arguments and produce detailed reports.
