A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a lead specialist nurse within Respiratory/Thoracic Medicine. The successful applicant will work closely with the respiratory consultants to provide specialist care and support to patients with a diagnosis of Respiratory illnesses such as bronchiectasis, Asthma, COPD etc. This will include assessment and monitoring of patients through clinics and running effective patient initiated follow ups.
Main duties of the job The Respiratory Department is successfully running a Faster Diagnostic Service, lung function diagnostic team, RESPS team, and an increasing multi-disciplinary workforce.
We are looking for someone with proven experience working with respiratory patients and a good understanding of respiratory illness and disease. The role will involve close MDT working and liaison with tertiary centres, so excellent communication skills would be required.
You will need to show your commitment, enthusiasm, and drive to develop your own clinical, managerial, and team working skills within the service. You must be able to communicate effectively at all levels, work autonomously, and demonstrate effective teamwork. You will be supported through regular team meetings, 1-1 sessions, and ongoing education and development.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential NMC Level 1 Current Registration Diploma Management qualification or equivalent experience. Evidence of continuous personal, professional, and academic development to masters equivalent level.
Experience Essential Minimum of 5 years experience in clinical leadership or Head of Department Minimum of 3 years experience in dealing with respiratory patients and relatives. Experience in dealing with multidisciplinary teams including senior clinicians. Experience of working in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting
Desirable Participation in change management
