Job overview Kestrel Ward, North Wales Adolescent Service
We are pleased to be able to offer the opportunity for an experienced and motivated Nurse with excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering high quality care to apply for the post of Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse on Kestrel Ward at the North Wales Adolescent Service in Abergele, North Wales.
Working in a Tier 4 inpatient CAMHS setting with young people between the age of 12-17 years old, you will need to have a flexible approach and be able to adapt your skills and abilities to suit a range of mental health needs and presentations.
As a senior staff nurse you will act as case manager for a small group of young people and work closely with the wider MDT to plan, deliver and review the care provided on the ward. In addition, you will contribute to the day to day routine and support for young people on the ward and ultimately support their discharge back to the community.
Main duties of the job As a senior member of the nursing team you will be expected to contribute to the development of more junior colleagues, students and the wider service.
Individuals who do not have direct inpatient CAMHS experience but are able to demonstrate significant experience in other transferable areas of mental health or CAMHS are encouraged to apply.
You are applying for a Full time equivalent post. Kestrel ward provides a 24/7 service and you will need to be flexible to meet the range of shift patterns required, including night shifts.

To undertake a fast track programme of development over 9-18 months depending on competencies required to meet Band 6 role. The role will include both classroom and learning in clinical practice to enhance existing skills. The role will cover a mix of carrying out autonomous clinical work that fits within current competencies alongside demonstrated and observed new skills development.
