Our client is a Local Authority based in South London, and they are seeking an experienced Senior Stock Condition Surveyor to join them for a contract role.

Our client has 14,000 residential properties and the Council invests about £27m in planned maintenance and improvements each year. The post holder will play a key role in collecting, assessing, and planning the required works to our client's housing and estates. This data and planning is essential in shaping strategic long-term investment decisions as well as building the annual and 3-year programmes of works. You will be required to undertake surveys of council homes and other assets, assessing them against the decent home standard and housing health and safety rating system. You will also undertake audits and spot checks as required on the stock condition surveys undertaken and data received by consultants to ensure consistency of assessments.

Applicants for this post must be qualified surveyors and have at least 4 years of post-Building Surveyor qualification working experience, 4 years of proven experience undertaking housing stock condition surveys including HHSRS surveys, and 4 years of experience in carrying out, assessing, diagnosing, and undertaking full measured surveys, producing detailed surveys and reports on remedial works including schedules of costings.

Critical to this role will be the ability to communicate effectively and engage in negotiations that can often be sensitive and complex. You will need to be able to engage productively with third parties to develop good relationships.

Our client offers hybrid working, and the rate offered is £380 - £400/day inside IR35. This will initially be a 6-month contract.
