We are seeking a senior engineering professional with skills in waterways, stormwater, hydrology, flood risk management, or modelling and a well-developed knowledge of the water industry to join our Water Resources Team. You will help us develop sustainable, livable, and climate-resilient water solutions, and you will play a key role in the delivery of ambitious and interesting projects, allowing you a balance of technical work, project management, operational support, business development, and client engagement. Working in the GHD Water Resources Group will expose you to some of the largest and most interesting projects being undertaken in Victoria, nationally, and internationally. We value wellness and flexibility; we are open to part-time or full-time arrangements, and you can be based in our Melbourne or Geelong offices. Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and could see you involved in: A broad range of projects including major infrastructure, urban redevelopment, flood risk assessments and mitigation, strategic water advice, and stormwater and waterway management. Leading hydrological and hydraulic modelling and analysis to inform planning studies through to detailed design of new infrastructure. Preparation of proposals, providing creative solutions and technical reporting. Building and maintaining strong client relationships, as part of business development, and engagement throughout project delivery. Technical Leadership and Project Management to guide key projects and mentor other team members. What you will bring to the team:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, coupled with 7 – 15 years of experience in the water industry. Demonstrated experience with using hydrology and hydraulic modelling software such as TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, RORB, MUSIC, or CFD. A good understanding of industry standards such as Australian Rainfall & Runoff (AR&R) is essential. Sound knowledge of GIS, WSUD, and IWM. Chartered Engineer, or working towards becoming Chartered. Proven experience across the project lifecycle, including proposals, feasibility studies, and detailed design. The ability to lead and/or work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team across the project lifecycle as well as an interest in coaching and mentoring to strengthen the team’s capabilities.
