The Strategy Team drives Depop's growth by answering critical questions and helping to identify and deliver its biggest opportunities. We're looking for someone to collaborate closely with senior leaders across the business and become a trusted partner to our Exec team. You'll be part of a team that works together to solve complex problems and to guide Depop's strategic goals during this exciting chapter of growth.
The team's scope can be split into four key pillars:
Strategic Planning
- Shaping Depop's strategic vision, growth strategy and constraints (alongside cross-functional partners), and refining based on new internal/external learnings. This takes place across time horizons including quarterly reflections, annual planning as well as Depop's longer-term strategy. Strategic Articulation
- Building tailored communication of the business strategy to the leadership, the wider company and our parent company Etsy. Strategic Initiatives
- Owning the delivery of select high-impact projects. These projects are typically early stage, highly cross-functional and of strategic importance to the business. This may include evaluating and progressing corporate development opportunities with external parties. Strategic Operations
- Helping Depop execute its strategy more effectively through working with leaders on improving their rituals, processes, resource allocation/org design (where relevant) and proactively joining the dots to improve cross-functional working. Role Overview
You will be building recommendations to shape the future of Depop, driving the company planning process, presenting updates to the company/leadership, owning a variety of strategic initiatives and helping the organisation to operate more effectively.
Alongside working on company-wide initiatives, each Strategy Team member is also the dedicated strategic partner to a specific member of the Exec Team. This role will partner closely with our Chief Financial Officer (who oversees Finance, Insights, User Support, Shipping and Trust & Safety) on strategic decision-making and drive key initiatives in these areas.

Work closely with the Senior Strategy Director to run the company-wide planning processes, including supporting leaders to focus on what's most important, navigate prioritisation trade-offs and determine what success looks like. Build clear narratives around business performance, competitive context and rationale for our strategic decisions - formally/informally communicating this information with audiences of all levels. Facilitate complex conversations, guiding senior stakeholders to a solution amidst uncertainty and differing perspectives. Lead select strategic initiatives, bringing in a broad range of cross-functional stakeholders to deliver a clear goal. Requirements
Extensive experience in strategy consulting or in-house strategy. Strong understanding of business commercials and a company's P&L, with ability to interpret key insights to drive growth & profitability. Proficient at Excel/Google Sheets with ability to conduct analysis, build models and draw out the most critical insights. Skilled at building clear presentations and presenting to different audiences e.g. Executives, Board level, Company-wide communications etc. Experience engaging with senior stakeholders, with demonstrated skills in complex stakeholder management. About you
An interest in resale and a desire to be part of transforming fashion consumption.
