We are delighted to be working with a regional office for an established structural engineering consultancy which unveiled its Bath office only a few years ago. Since opening this new office, this business has grown a talented and diverse design team from highly respected local consultancies. This business has a wide-ranging client base with a full portfolio of interesting projects, including some of the most advanced automated facilities in the world.
Tailor-made engineering solutions are a specialty for this consultancy, and as such, relationships are at the forefront of what they do.
The role:
You will be working alongside a talented team of engineers and technicians from a number of offices on the structural designs of developments in logistics, warehousing, multi-storey residential, and commercial sectors on a wide range of scales. The civil and structural teams work very closely with various other design contingents, so good communication skills are key.
Requirements:
A motivated structural designer with building structures experience
Experience with either British or EuroCodes
Knowledge of industry standard design and analysis software
Experience or willingness to mentor and lead more junior technical staff
Key responsibilities:
Managing structural designs in all traditional materials
Mentoring junior staff
Report writing and preparation of specifications
Attending design team meetings
Supporting the running of the structural side of the business
Ensuring timely technical delivery
Building and maintaining good relationships with clients, architects, and contractors
Taking an active role in working toward a position in senior management
Acting as the lead point of contact on various projects
Detailed design and analysis duties on building structures from a range of sectors
Working closely with and supporting senior engineers
Undertaking site visits, supporting site management on technical issues
Obtaining a good understanding of issues on site and devising and providing solutions
As a senior engineer, you will gain ownership and responsibility for projects quickly, but will always have the close support from the rest of the team. You will have the opportunity to affect the development and growth of the office and the continued development of the company as a whole. Your input, involvement, and participation in this will be encouraged and welcomed.

On offer is bi-annual bonuses, sports/social activity contributions, company-wide overnight outings, and support in CPD, training, and chartership.
£45,000 - £55,000
25 days annual leave + bank holidays (increasing with service)
