( up to ) £Competitive About the Role: MJ Consulting Engineers (MJC) has an opening for a Senior Structural Engineer at our Manchester office. MJC is a specialist structural engineering firm known for its dedication and excellence in serving the events industry for over 25 years. As a critical part of our team, you will be working primarily on theatre buildings, show productions, and outdoor events, as well as on the preservation and enhancement of Grade I and Grade II listed buildings. With project costs up to £12m and the use of the latest design software, the role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in impactful, high-value projects. A competitive salary of up to £40k will be offered, commensurate with the importance of this role within our company. MJC is part of the Structural Engineering Alliance Group (SEAG), a collective of esteemed engineering firms, each distinguished in its respective field, united by a shared vision of pioneering progress. Responsibilities: Use latest design software to create and manage structural designs. Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders. Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, delegating work to team members, programming deliverables, and monitoring progress. Provide support and guidance to junior staff, fostering their development and progression. Prepare calculations, drawings, details, specifications and reports for a wide range of structures and materials. Implement Company policies and ensure adherence across your team. Monitor and oversee project budgets and staff resources for projects undertaken. Develop existing customer relationships and promote MJC's services. Assist in achieving targeted revenues from current and new customers. Qualifications: Chartered Engineer status (CEng) would be advantageous. Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent (Masters degree preferred). Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in structural engineering. Proven track record of cost estimation and project management. Prior experience working with historic buildings is highly desirable. Why Work for Us: Competitive salary.
