Senior Structural Engineer

Our client is a leading UK Design Consultancy, delivering multi-disciplinary engineering solutions in the Built Environment. They have a diverse range of clients and a portfolio of projects covering industrial, pharmaceutical, residential, commercial, education, defence, probation, and domestic sectors. Due to continuing demand, their busy Scarborough Structures Team has an opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join their office, working on projects in Yorkshire and further afield. They are looking for a motivated Engineer with a minimum of five years of UK industry experience to work on a wide range of projects. The projects include concrete frame, steel frame, medium to high-rise design, and existing structures across sectors such as residential, commercial, refurbishment, and industrial. Providing proactive leadership, you will help lead a team of creative, dedicated engineers across various exciting projects. You will be skilled at preparing, detailing, and reviewing drawings, supervising CAD Technicians in the preparation of these drawings. You will work collaboratively with engineers in other disciplines such as geotechnical and civil/infrastructure design and supervise, mentor, and check work for Graduates, Engineers, and Technicians. Further responsibilities will include: Project managing a variety of projects. Informing and supporting the building design aspirations, functionality, and architectural form throughout the design process. Setting a strong example of client care and general consultancy. Maintaining responsibility for the financial performance of your projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality design. Assisting in the preparation of design quotes and writing reports. Attending client and project meetings to build relationships and discuss their needs, requirements, and any design issues. You will be Chartered or working towards chartered status with ICE or IStructE and have hands-on design experience with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
