This role is integral in ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality projects while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the ongoing success of their practice. The Senior Structural Engineer will become part of a close-knit and highly skilled team, working on a range of challenging projects that emphasize functionality, efficiency, and aesthetic design. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects from concept through to completion, collaborating with clients, architects, and contractors to deliver structural solutions that align with the consultancy's values of practicality and elegance. The Senior Structural Engineer will: Take ownership of structural engineering designs, ensuring innovative, efficient, and sustainable solutions are delivered to meet client and project requirements. Oversee projects from concept through to completion, managing budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful delivery. Work closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to provide integrated design solutions while maintaining clear and effective communication. Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians, fostering their professional development and maintaining high technical standards across the team. Conduct detailed reviews of designs and calculations, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices. Required Skills & Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record of working on diverse projects, including commercial and residential developments. Strong knowledge of structural design across various materials (steel, concrete, timber, masonry) and expertise in industry-standard software. Working towards or holding chartership with IStructE or ICE, demonstrating commitment to professional excellence. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively with clients, architects, and contractors, and lead collaborative discussions to achieve project goals.
