ABOUT THE ROLE

My client is looking for a Chartered / Near-Chartered Structural Engineer to join their Wigan office and is looking for someone who can come in and make their mark. As part of a growing and ambitious team, you can take on expanding responsibilities and play a pivotal role in growing the Wigan presence. The ability and desire to lead multi-disciplinary projects is a key part of the role, in which we would fully support this adaptable person in their development across a range of disciplines, sectors and clients.

REQUIREMENTS

Recent consultancy experience in the North West Chartered or close to chartered with ICE or StructE

SKILLS REQUIRED

Willingness to understand and engage in multiple technical disciplines Ability to communicate openly and clearly with colleagues, clients and third parties Taking personal responsibility and pride for high-quality work delivery and being organised to ensure deadlines are met Demonstrating a passion for engineering Comfortable within a hardworking and supportive team environment Ability to continually learn, develop, and support the development of others

RESPONSIBILITIES

Independently using appropriate design/analysis software including CAD and the ability to support the learning of others Analyse technical problems, assess the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures and devise new approaches and alternative solutions Following and contributing to Engineering procedures for completing work to the highest standard and adding value to the schemes we deliver and to the client teams Identify and manage risks within your area of responsibility Supporting other team members in their technical development Attending site visits to review project constraints and the construction process proactively Leading and managing the delivery of appropriate projects, liaising with clients and third parties Capable of presenting and discussing technical solutions with technical and non-technical parties Internal project management including resource planning and financial control Identifying and responding to project commercial risks and opportunities Developing proposals and project cost estimates Maintaining and developing relationships with existing and prospective clients Upholding and assisting with the development and implementation of company policies and procedures Helping to promote the business, explore business development opportunities and support the growth of the team
