Senior Subsea Cable Route Engineer MillTech's client is growing and adding to their Subsea Cabling team. The company has seen a large increase in project commitments in this area and has been growing the team rapidly to keep up with demands. They are enjoying an exciting growth period and looking for the right Senior Subsea Cabling Route Engineer to join the team and grow with them. Your responsibilities as the Senior Subsea Cable Route Engineer will include the following: Be the Technical Lead for offshore cable routing scopes of work Act as a champion for offshore cable routing within the growing Marine Geoscience team Providing technical input to bids for subsea cable routing scopes Development of offshore cable routing capability, including presenting to key clients, and proposing technical investment and capability enhancement activities Input to Cable Burial Risk Assessments (CBRA) and Depth of Lowering Assessments Routing of offshore and onshore cables using GIS-based analysis GIS-based analysis of geophysical, geospatial and geotechnical data and data management Working closely with the Marine Geophysicists & Geoscientists, Engineering Geologists, Geotechnical Engineers and Engineering Geomorphologists on a wide range of projects To succeed in this role the ideal Senior Subsea Cable Route Engineer will need the following: Proven background within the offshore renewables industry, interconnector or telecommunications cables industries or a related field Experience of offshore cable routing using ArcGIS, Makai Plan or AutoCAD. Able to analyse geotechnical and geospatial data for Cable Burial Risk Assessments (CBRA), or Depth of Lowering (DoL) assessments Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work Technically strong with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software (ArcGIS, QGIS or similar) A relevant degree (ideally MSc or equivalent) with GIS, subsea engineering, or geoscience content If you are looking for a position to challenge and develop your skills as a Subsea Cable Route Engineer or Consultant, this is the role for you.
