About Me
Iam looking for people to support me in my home in the localcommunity in River, Dover. I am a man who experiences autism andsometimes I may display behaviour which can be described aschallenging. I enjoy going out and about, but I can get anxious. Iam lots of fun to be with and want people to work with me who careabout me and are dedicated to supporting me to do every day thingslike eating healthily, keeping fit and learning new skills. I havemy own ways of doing things, which the rest of my team will helpyou to learn, and if you're the right person, we'll get ongreat!

- As a member of myteam, you will be given full training and induction from my TeamLeader and your first few shifts will be alongside them so you canget to know me and I can get to know you!

We endeavour to createpositive family relationships offering a good circle of support.There is a strong focus on supporting individuals' lives in aperson centred way which includes various activities, shopping,managing own budgets and cooking. We tailor our services to enablepeople to be as independent as possible.
This isa-24 hour service, therefore flexibility is essential.
Role Responsibility
What will I bedoing?
The role of the SeniorSupport Worker is to support the management team in the supervisionof the Support Worker team in their day to day activities, ensuringthat new staff are inducted to their roles, including temporary andagency staff.
Taking the responsibility ofrunning the shift as the senior person on duty, supporting peopleto take their medication, monitoring and recording medication,dealing with individuals’ finances and petty cash, ensuring we areworking to compliance and following the organization’s policies andprocedures. Senior Support Workers will model their own goodpractice within the team to ensure a high quality service isprovided. It’s a hands-on job so you will also be supporting peoplewith a full range of daily activities, including supporting peoplewith personal care.
The Ideal Candidate
What skills and qualities do I need tohave?
You will have to haveSupport Work experience, ideally within Learning Disabilitysetting.
You will also be:
- Passionate, caring and enthusiastic
- Flexible, patient and non-judgemental
- A great team player with lots of energy
- Able to demonstrate good communication skills
- Able to complete the physical aspects of the role such asmanual handling
- It would be an advantage ifyou can use a computer, produce documents in word and useemails
