We're hiring a Senior Sustainability Manager for a leading FMCG business based in Buckinghamshire, with hybrid working.


Reporting into the Operations Director, this role will take the lead on shaping and delivering the sustainability strategy across the EMEA region.


This is a standalone role within an established business, that will require strong stakeholder and project management skills.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement the company's sustainability strategy, focusing on impactful, measurable outcomes.
  • Set and achieve ambitious resource reduction targets, including areas such as water, CO₂ emissions, and packaging.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure the successful execution of sustainability initiatives.
  • Identify and pursue new avenues for enhancing profitability within the organization.
  • Maintain key relationships to align sustainability objectives with broader strategic goals, considering the supply chain and commercial impacts of all policy decisions.
  • Report on progress toward sustainability targets and initiatives quarterly to the Leadership Team and Board.
  • Partner with external consultants to ensure full compliance with all relevant waste and packaging regulations from a supply chain perspective.


Candidate should have:

  • Demonstrated experience in creating and advancing sustainability strategies that lead to substantial reductions in environmental impact.
  • Proficiency in establishing supply chain baselines, setting reduction targets, and tracking/reporting performance.
  • Strong influencing skills, with a track record of working effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience engaging and influencing stakeholders across all levels of an organization, including senior leadership.
  • Ability to interpret legislation and compliance standards, ensuring the team understands and meets supply chain obligations.
  • Background in food, packaging, and equipment sourcing and supply chains is desirable.
  • An established network within sustainability organizations is a plus but not required.
