The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Systems Manager to join our technology team and play a key role in developing, deploying, maintaining, and optimising our People (HR) Team technology portfolio. This portfolio broadly encompasses the systems and processes that support People (HR) and Payroll, serving as the backbone of CFG’s core business operations. Your expertise will help transform our technology landscape, furthering the success of our clubs both on and off the pitch. Location This role is based at our Etihad Campus HQ in Manchester, with 3–4 days per week on-site. What You’ll Do Configure, administer, and maintain the People Team system portfolio in line with product releases. Suggest, build, and deploy solutions in our People Team systems at both global and local levels. Troubleshoot issues and incidents, resolving them and implementing changes to prevent recurrence. Ensure data integrity and integration across the People Team system portfolio. Work collaboratively with third-party resources to enhance knowledge and improve ways of working. Manage the end-to-end delivery of projects, aligning solutions with our People Team architecture. Proactively manage risks through effective daily operations and project oversight. What We’re Looking For Experience managing HRIS systems. A proven track record of successfully managing and delivering projects. Strong governance and expertise in systems administration. Familiarity with project management methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall. A solid understanding of version control and DevOps principles, including CI/CD pipelines. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Self-motivated, curious, and driven to innovate continuously. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects under tight deadlines. Desirable Skills Experience with software development (e.g., Python, Java, Scala) and Big Data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark), ideally in a cloud-based environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Proficiency in SQL. Experience using SAP SuccessFactors and certification in SuccessFactors modules.
