Job Description

In the role of a Senior Tax Analyst at Sherwin-Williams, you will be responsible for executing the VAT preparation and submission processes. This includes running tax register and sales reports, verifying data, checking invoices, and making adjustment entries where required in order to submit accurate VAT filings on time.

In this role, you will be based from our Witney, Oxfordshire offices, working hybrid, with the opportunity for remote working. This position is ideal for someone with International / European Tax experience and qualifications, looking for a new opportunity within an international company and global leader in paint and paint coatings. Responsibilities

Execute the VAT preparation and submission process for the assigned companies, including running tax register and sales reports, verifying data, checking invoices, and making adjustment entries to submit accurate VAT filings on time.

Execute the Intrastat and EC Sales list preparation and submission process for the assigned companies, including running sales reports, analyzing sales data, making corrections, and uploading and submitting the reports to the Competent Authorities.

Play an active role in onboarding (new) entities at the Indirect Tax Group by mapping activities currently performed at the company and planning and transferring activities to the SSC.

Provide support and play an active role in the implementation of new systems in the field of Indirect Tax, such as OneSource and Making Taxes Digital for VAT.

Actively follow developments in the field of Indirect Taxation, including legal changes and relevant court verdicts, and recommend appropriate actions.

Respond to questions from the business related to the correct application of VAT rules and regulations, ensuring compliance with department policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Part qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, AAT, etc.)

International / European Tax experience

Ability to work well under pressure, meeting strict deadlines and targets with minimum supervision

Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle 11i and 12

Applying fundamental VAT principles and practices

Ensuring compliance with department policies, procedures, and applicable laws

Additional European language skills are an advantage
