Job requirements

We have an exciting new opportunity to join our thriving Aptia project area. As a team leader, you will manage a team to successfully deliver the Data Preparation and Implementation work streams within GMP rectification and equalisation projects.

You will manage your team to ensure that projects are delivered within time and budget and ensure that staff maintain professionalism within work delivery, following the Aptia standards. Collaboration with other team leaders and management will also be necessary to ensure delivery and capacity are managed effectively across the wider team.

You will report to the Operations Director. This role will work on a hybrid basis aligned from any Aptia UK office.

What you will be doing:

Project delivery and scheduling:

Schedule work to satisfy budgetary targets and to utilise capacity.

Monitor project delivery, ensuring work delivery on team is within target and budget.

Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery of projects.

Working with Data Coordinators and Resource Team to plan future pipeline delivery.

Escalating issues to Senior Management with proposed solutions.

Continual monitoring of processes to identify Business Improvements and efficiencies.

Ensure staff adhere to Aptia standards for delivery of GMP project work.

Performance:

Proactively manage and identify training and development requirements across team.

Manage performance issues as necessary.

Be accountable for the standard and quality of work.

Financials:

Accurately record own time spent and spend time wisely.

Monitor staff time recording and utilisation, managing under performance as necessary.

Contribute to the GMP Teams revenue targets.

Monitor project delivery to minimise non-chargeable time and overruns.

Identify revenue opportunities.

Clients and colleagues:

Support Client Directors and GMP colleagues with delivery queries.

Attend project meetings as necessary – internal and external.

Build trusted and collaborative relationships with key teams and individuals.

What we’re looking for:

ESSENTIAL:

Experience in people management and working within a project-based team.

Technical experience of UK Defined Benefit pensions, specifically calculations of retirement benefits and interactions of GMP.

Experience of reviewing / checking work completed by colleagues and of being an escalation point on urgent / complex projects.

Proficient Computer Skills – in particular Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.

Track record of being able to manage, prioritise and deliver multiple / large projects.

Experience of communicating technical issues related to member benefits and calculations, including GMP details with colleagues and third parties.

Willingness to learn new skills and be adaptable in a changing environment.

DESIRABLE:

PMI or equivalent/relevant UK pensions qualifications.

Project/programme delivery qualifications.
