Senior Technical Designer (Office Interiors D&B) £55,000 - 60,000 p.a. Berkshire | Office based

We are seeking a talented and experienced Technical Designer to join a successful interior design practice based in Windsor. In this role, you will provide invaluable assistance to the team, contributing to fast-paced and dynamic projects.

General Responsibilities: Production of comprehensive technical and construction packages for commercial workspaces, from Stages 4 and beyond. Provide technical input from the concept stage to ensure a seamless transition. Ensure compliance with national and local building codes, while collaborating with interior designers to establish productive work environments. Maintain effective communication with clients and design teams to understand requirements. Develop innovative designs through material and concept research while considering budgets, materials, risks, and labour for project profitability. Coordination, timely task completion, and on-site observations streamline construction. Prepare and participate in client presentations during construction, with suggestions for budget-appropriate furniture and finishes. Staying current with design trends and regulations is crucial. Collaboration with internal and external teams is key. Assisting in procurement and minimizing rework for efficiency. The focus remains on maintaining design intent while coordinating technical aspects. The role also involves space planning, M&E concepts, lighting, finishes, and more. Manage liaison with sub-contractor consultants, ensuring alignment with design intent and costs. Skills / Experience Required: Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field. 5+ years of experience in commercial office interiors is mandatory. Full proficiency in AutoCAD. Sound experience in technical detailing, regulations, and standards. Ability to lead technical packages and review drawings. Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines without compromising quality. Confident at multitasking between various projects. Proactive on site problem-solving skills and a creative mindset. Understanding of working with other specialisms/trades such as M&E/joinery. High level of self motivation, enthusiasm and ambition. Desire to succeed, positive can-do attitude and team player.
