Grade 8, £40,219 to £43,414 pro rata (inclusive of local weighting) depending on experience. Full time - 37 hours per week. Permanent. Based in Hertford with the option for home working up to 50% of working hours.

What will you be doing?

Reviewing and responding to planning and licensing applications based on your noise expertise. Representing the council at committees and hearings using your technical knowledge. Responding to service requests and giving appropriate advice. Undertaking inspections, investigating complaints, preparing prosecution files and undertaking project work. You will be empowered to undertake appropriate enforcement action as necessary. Visiting and assessing venues and events using sound equipment where required. Providing technical advice to the team and supporting the development of officers.

About you

As an ideal candidate, you will have:

A relevant qualification or experience within the discipline applied for and working knowledge of the legislation and regulations relating to those areas. The ability to deal with challenging situations using tact and discretion. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work without supervision, and prioritise work to meet deadlines. Excellent written skills, with the ability to write schedules of work, summarise accurately and convey complex information.
