About NOVA:

NOVA Wealth is a fast growing start up looking to change the face of financial advice and the way it's delivered in the UK. We firmly believe that a human adviser needs to be at the heart of every client relationship, however by leveraging technology we can empower our advisers to deliver higher levels of service and cut out a lot of the day to day admin that gets in the way.

At our core, we're here to build a game changer in the advice industry that delivers better customer outcomes, at a lower cost, for more people. Through customer-centric advisers supported by our innovative Lifeline technology, we empower our customers to go beyond just making smarter financial decisions to living the lives they dream of.

About the role:

We have an opportunity for a brilliant, experienced and technical paraplanner to join our wonderful team. At NOVA, your title will be 'Financial Planner'. This is an elevated role compared to much of the industry where, rather than reporting into a financial advisor, you'll form part of our specialist planning team.

While a non-client facing role, you will get involved in all areas of financial planning and will be responsible for owning our end-to-end advice process, deciding the recommendations and curating the financial plans for our customers, whilst helping shape our processes and the way we provide advice for years to come.

This role will excite those who are passionate about the industry they work in and seek to take on more responsibility within a forward-thinking firm. We are a planning led firm that leverages technology to empower our planning team to focus on the important areas which need their expertise - creating fantastic advice for our customers.

What you'll be doing:

Creating brilliant advice for our customers

Being a technical expert on all things financial planning

Cashflow modelling

Analysis of clients existing products and investments

Ownership of individual planning projects requiring technical expertise

Maintaining the pinnacle of standards of advice for our customers

Designing and refining our processes and ways of working

Working with our tech team to help remove admin and drive efficiency

Helping to train, support and manage more junior colleagues and admin support

Requirements:

Client centric:

We put our customers at the centre of everything we do, so the ability to build strong client relationships, have a high attention to detail, and make things more straightforward for our customers is very important.

Entrepreneurial mindset:

We're a fast growing startup looking to change an industry, where innovative thinking and a determination to succeed is key.

Comfortable with technology:

We use a lot of tech to support our customer journeys and are always trying to innovate in this area, so having an open mind for learning new ways of doing things is a must.

Team-player:

Our teams work in a very close-knit way and as a startup we're always looking to innovate, so our teams need to be open to trying new ways of doing things and give feedback in a helpful and constructive way.

Integrity:

We deal with highly confidential and personal data every day for our clients, so our people need to have the highest standards of personal integrity.

Qualified:

We are looking for Chartered or near Chartered (e.g. 1-2 exams remaining) qualified candidates for this role. You'll also have ~5 years of experience preparing advice for clients and have a broad range of experience in many areas of advice.

And it would be great, but not essential, if you had:

STEP qualifications

Pension transfer (DB pensions) experience

You'll feel right at home if you're:

Helpful:

random acts of kindness make the workplace a better place so, go out of your way to be helpful, and give people reasons to smile.

Straightforward:

life is complicated enough. Don't make it harder for yourself, or others. Sometimes the simplest approach works wonders.

Bold:

every great business started with a flash of inspiration. If you've got a great idea, don't keep it to yourself.

Benefits:

Join a firm with genuine purpose and impact on our customers, along with a strong moral code

Competitive salary + benefits (bonus, pension, private medical, income protection, death in service)

Potential to get equity in the company in the future

Access to Wellness / mental health support (Headspace App + mental health support through private medical)

Budget for additional learning / cost of exams

Electric vehicle leasing through salary sacrifice / cycle to work scheme

Flexible working hours and hybrid remote working (typically 2-3 days a week working in the office (20 Farringdon Street))

Exceptionally open and diverse, multinational team

Entrepreneurial, creative environment
