This post is a key position in our digital transformation journey within the Modern Workplace Programme. The successful candidate will support the Test Manager and a small team of Test Analysts while working with business and other stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements and to conduct meaningful software testing. Working within the Modern Workplace Programme Team, the postholder will be responsible for: Developing test plans, test estimates, and test cases based on verbal or written requirements. Procuring or creating test data. Defect management and status reporting. Contributing to quality metrics to ensure the successful delivery of Digital Transformation projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have previous experience on major digital transformation projects, and testing within programmes using Microsoft Azure technologies and/or MS365 collaboration tools would be an advantage. This role would suit an experienced tester who has demonstrable testing knowledge and experience, particularly of manual testing, although hands-on experience of automated and performance testing would be desirable. The individual would have demonstrable practical skills and abilities using testing tools, and possess a high level of analytical attention to detail. An understanding of typical university information systems, such as Tribal SITS or MHR iTrent would be an advantage, and the role requires the individual to have a minimum of a HND, degree or professional qualifications in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience. ISTQB qualification in software testing is also desirable. The role is based in Portsmouth and requires the individual to be able to work in the office, although we work a hybrid system that includes working from home.
