The opportunity!
Our Test Practice is growing, and we are looking to hire forward-thinking test professionals to support the growth of the practice and deliver first-class services to our customers. The role involves quality and test advocacy, resource planning and management, and resolution of issues that impede the test effort.
NOTE: all applicants must be either UK citizens or have lived in the UK for a minimum of 5 years (Security Clearance (SC) eligibility is required for the role).
Responsibilities:
Management of teams.
Estimating, financial management and control of large testing portfolios, ensuring that the agreed spend for each program of work is adhered to.
Identify and implement appropriate tooling to support test delivery.
Lead other Test Managers.
Identify and advocate automated testing wherever necessary and appropriate.
Manage defects and ensure that corrective actions are taken in a timely manner to ensure these meet the program/project timeline.
Produce program and/or project summary reporting/MI of testing status, defect status, corrective actions for major defects.
Contribute to documenting and/or signing-off Test Exit/Completion Reports.
Manage the forward schedule of test.
Act as the primary escalation point for impediments and assist with issue resolution.
Negotiating the ongoing purpose and deliverables of the test effort.
Ensuring the appropriate planning and management of the test resources at a program and/or project level – demand management, resourcing, onboarding/offboarding.
Advocating the appropriate level of quality by the resolution of important defects.
Advocating an appropriate level of testability focus on the software development process.
Undertaking test assurance activities (internal/external suppliers).
Leading on good practice and use of industry standards and tooling.
Defining and owning Test Policies and Test Strategies where deemed necessary and appropriate.
Ensuring coherence and consistency of implementation and management of test delivery across projects.
Assessing the progress and effectiveness of the test effort.
Supporting test governance and the wider project delivery governance as it applies to the client.
Actively contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of test capabilities within the Eviden Digital Assurance sub-practice.
Knowledge of at least

business domains. Good experience in one or more of the following areas: Large-scale transformation and migration programmes. Government frameworks. Defence. Requirements: Strong leadership skills, preferably with some consultancy experience. Experience of interacting at the COO level with senior customers. Strong estimating, financial management and financial control for large Testing Engagements. At least five years’ experience working within public and/or private organizations, managing the full end to end testing programs of work. Well versed in Testing techniques, tools, and latest trends, including software engineering processes and automation. Test assurance and governance for test engagements within and across suppliers. Experienced in test planning and execution within different project delivery methodologies such as Waterfall, Spiral, Agile and DevOps. Must have led testing activities in various projects, with larger teams, ideally within a Distributed Delivery environment. Extensive experience in testing with focus on Test Management. Candidate should have SC cleared or must be eligible to secure SC clearance. Proven experience working within a large public sector organization managing the full end-to-end testing program. Experience of working within the government environment and deep knowledge of Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and guidelines. Produce end to end Test strategy and test approach. Experience in writing Test Level Plans. Experienced in test planning & execution with Agile & DevOps methodologies. Oversee test execution results and defects tracker. Produce summary report of testing status, defect status, corrective actions for major defects and RAG status at program level with input from workstream. Creation of Test Level Exit Reports. Experience of Managing Test Transition Projects. Must have led testing activities in various projects, with teams of up to 20 resources, ideally within a Distributed Delivery environment.
