We are looking for a registered Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join our with previous experience working in an outpatient clinic setting, and existing knowledge and clinical skills of the hand/ wrist. Splinting experience is preferred but not essential, and there will be opportunities for the successful candidate to shadow and learn basic splinting skills if required. Please note this post includes the opportunity to work from home on one of the days, and the others are face-to-face clinical between Hereford County Hospital (main base) and Ross-On-Wye Community Hospital. Ideally, the role will need to commence end of March 2025 to allow adequate caseload hand over and the opportunity to shadow department's daily routine and processes. Main duties of the job

Provide high quality hand therapy assessment and specialised treatment to adults and paediatric patient caseload. The role covers acute trauma, elective post-operative care, acquired conditions and/ or complex condition management, and rheumatoid conditions. You will be required to manage your own outpatient diary, maintain appropriate treatment plans with the support of two occupational therapy assistant practitioners and be supervised by the occupational therapy hand therapist band 7 team leader. Splinting is required in this role, and there is the opportunity for splinting teaching and practice during the induction to the role. The applicant should be confident with exercise prescription, and have a good understanding of occupational functional performance related to hand/wrist conditions. About us

Education & Qualifications

Professional Qualification to degree level or equivalent in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy HCPC registered Registration to governing body and or British Association of Hand Therapy Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Broad and specialist knowledge of relevant patient hand/ wrist conditions and therapy interventions Demonstration of knowledge of core and specialist Hand Therapy skills Evidence of ongoing CPD in relevant area with a willingness to learn and utilise new skills Attend supervision with the line manager Experience of multi-disciplinary communication, assessments and record keeping Splinting experience for a variety of hand and/or wrist conditions Experience

NHS or equivalent experience e.g. in inpatient areas, acute or community or community services Experience of using/fitting adaptive equipment Experience working in an outpatient clinical setting Disclosure and Barring Service Check
