We are recruiting a part-time Senior Tobacco Dependency Advisor (TDA) to join an exciting new team that's part of a unique system-wide collaborative approach to support Smokefree Pregnancies, hosted by QEH. The post will be based at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH). Travelling to Community hubs for NNUH will be required for the role. Main duties of the job
The Senior Tobacco Dependency Advisor role will contribute to tackling health inequalities through promoting and supporting Smokefree Pregnancies at the three Acute Hospitals across Norfolk and Waveney. It will focus on engaging pregnant women and their families to adopt healthy lifestyles by providing tobacco dependence treatment in line with Saving Babies Lives and NICE Guidelines. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join a new Maternity Stop Smoking Service developed as part of the NHS Long Term Plan. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining communication with pregnant women who smoke, where strong interpersonal skills are essential for developing Treatment Care plans and providing support throughout the pregnancy. A commitment to working collaboratively with community stakeholders, service users, and carers to help reduce health inequalities across Norfolk and Waveney is essential. You will be delivering evidence-based interventions that focus on behaviour change, and licensed treatment aids of which training can be offered to enable delivery. Your role will be to support the delivery of a high-quality, safe, and compassionate healthcare service. Qualifications/training and professional development
Educated to A Level standard education (or equivalent professional knowledge in health improvement) NVQ3 in Care or equivalent plus additional training to diploma level equivalent, or equivalent through short courses or experience Accredited Health Education and Promotion qualification Experience
Experience working in a Healthcare environment or for local authority services Experience delivering smoking cessation support or equivalent healthy lifestyle change and tracking progress change Previous experience within a maternity setting Proficient in the use of a suite of Microsoft packages Skills, abilities, and knowledge
