Job Title: Senior Toolmaker Location: West Drayton Pay Range: Competitive Contract Type: Perm My client, a leading company in the injection moulding industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Toolmaker to join their team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for manufacturing new tooling, maintaining and improving press and mould tools, and ensuring that production activities are supported with high-quality tooling. As a Senior Toolmaker, you will play a key role in ensuring that tooling is repaired and maintained efficiently, work is planned effectively, and high standards of workmanship are met at all times. Key Responsibilities: Manufacture new tooling and ancillary spares to support production activity. Responsible for the repair, maintenance, and improvement of press tools and mould tools. Evaluate repair jobs to determine the extent of work required to return tools to production-ready condition. Plan work efficiently and effectively to meet Toolroom and business needs, ensuring that costs remain within budget and key dates are achieved. Operate manual mills, grinders, and lathes to perform the required work. Use calibrated measuring equipment and interpret Engineering Tool drawings. Comply with all current working instructions within the business. Ensure full adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations while carrying out your duties. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior toolmakers and other team members when required. Qualifications & Requirements: Proven experience as a Toolmaker within the injection moulding industry. Strong experience with press tools, mould tools, and ancillary tooling. Ability to use manual mills, grinders, and lathes effectively. Familiarity with calibrated measuring equipment and an in-depth understanding of Engineering Tool drawings. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Ability to plan and prioritize tasks to meet both business and production requirements. Experience in adhering to health, safety, and environmental regulations in a manufacturing setting.
