Newcastle City Council is seeking a talented and dedicated Senior Transport Planner to play a crucial role in our ambitious plans to enhance the city’s transport network.

As a Senior Transport Planner, you will be instrumental in the development of our local walking and cycling improvement plan. Your expertise will be invaluable in promoting active travel, reducing congestion, and improving air quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement strategies to promote active travel, including walking and cycling. Contribute to the development and delivery of the local walking and cycling improvement plan. Support the rollout of bus service improvement schemes. Conduct transportation assessment and develop sustainable transport solutions. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address transportation challenges. Promote sustainable transport initiatives and engage with the community.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Transport Planning or related field. Proven experience in transport planning or project management. Strong understanding of active travel principles and best practices. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
