Monday to Friday 09:00 to 18:30

To ensure the planning and routing of depot vehicles and staff for local and national distribution is cost-effective and efficient. To oversee the running of the transport office. Report where required to relevant colleagues on financial and performance-related data, identifying and planning for appropriate transport and staffing resources to be in place at all times to meet customer demand and company targets. Ensure that all staff are appropriately recruited, inducted, led, and supervised and that the relevant support and training is planned for on a timely basis and implemented effectively. Ensure staff are working consistently in accordance within company procedures and service-related agreements, identifying any discrepancies, resolving complaints and ensuring an effective response to customer service is achieved. Ensure that vehicle damage and faults are reported on a timely basis to Workshop colleagues and that appropriate vehicles are made available for service or repair. Ensure systems for transport management and health and safety are developed and implemented effectively and that a full investigation and robust follow-up action is put in place where concerns arise. Attend relevant meetings and/or training events when required, to ensure performance standards are met. Deputise where required and in partnership with management ensures appropriate cover for all teams is available and any issues are resolved on a timely basis and in accordance with company procedures. What qualifications and experience are we looking for in our Senior Transport Supervisor? Extensive knowledge and application of driving-related legislation and associated guidance. Proven experience of leading a team, preferably in a customer-facing environment. Experience in supervising the work of others and adopting a coaching approach to improve performance. IT literate in Microsoft Office packages and have the ability to compile, analyse and interpret relevant data. What skills are we looking for in our Senior Transport Supervisor? Ability to use initiative and organise their work so that key tasks can be completed fully and on time. Ability to work to fluid targets and deadlines. Proven verbal, written communication and presentation skills. High attention to detail and confident to challenge discrepancies where necessary in the right manner and on a timely basis. Ability to act with sensitivity and influence others to take a particular course of action. Capable of remaining calm under pressure and be able to deal with difficult conversations.
