We are working with the local subsidiary of a major Middle Eastern banking group who are looking to expand their UK Treasury team with the addition of a Senior Treasury Investment Manager. Based in the West end of London, the successful candidate will lead on managing the Fixed Income, Private Equity Funds and Public Equity Investments portfolios. Although not the bank’s policy, it is best to only apply for this role if you are okay with regular office attendance given the front office nature of the role.
Role Description
- Generating and analysing new business opportunities in the following areas: Funds (Private and Public Equity), Investment grade bonds (Conventional investment grade bonds and SUKUKs)
- Preparing applications (includes credit applications for FI proposals and investment applications for equity-based investments)
- Seeking approvals and completing purchase/investment process
- Execution of related portfolio hedging activities (Forex and interest rate)
- Monthly/Quarterly monitoring of financial performance of Fixed Income and Private equity assets
- Annual reviews of exposures
- Liaison with loans admin and back up to team administrators
- Development of a network of contacts and market awareness
- Monitoring of secondary trading activity
- Identify opportunities in the Sukuk market and marketability executions via repo activities when required
- Supervision and contingency cover, where required, for treasury dealing and managing of the MM desk
- Pricing FX transactions and deposits to the business
- Contribute to diversification of funding and its implementation as designated by the Head of Treasury
- Ensure adherence to the Board’s risk appetite and all internal limits (capital, liquidity, credit in particular)
- Ensure that all trading is conducted on a professional basis in accordance with the Bank of England Money Markets Code and the Global FX code
Role Requirements
- Desirable Private and Public Equity funds portfolio management experience
- Fixed income execution – Sukuks execution is desirable
- Investment proposals and credit applications preparation
- Strong mathematical background
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PPT
- Strong relationship skills
- Keen Networker
- Previous experience of Islamic Banking is desirable
- A good amount of experience in cash management, capital markets, and/or corporate finance in a corporate banking environment
- Experience working in a global business environment
