Core Responsibilities

Assist the Head of Energy & Construction, UK to execute the strategic direction and business performance of the Energy & Construction portfolio in accordance with the objectives of the company. Underwrite Everest Energy & Construction insurance products in compliance with prescribed underwriting standards. Refer risks exceeding prescribed underwriting authority as appropriate. Participate in the underwriting peer review process as required. Monitor and keep abreast of changes in underwriting, regulation, and compliance. Liaise with the Risk Engineering team on loss control and risk selection reviews as required. Maintain awareness of all claims advices while supporting and providing input on claims settlement. Manage effective relationships to initiate cross-selling opportunities and ensure account retention. Ensure all processing and MI is managed to a high standard. Actively participate in the development and execution of the marketing plan, broker and customer relationships, consistent with the business plan objectives. Represent Everest at internal and external meetings with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders as required. Travel as required to support objectives, managing T&E expenses appropriately. Desired Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree, or comparable Business Degree. Demonstrated underwriting ability and technical competence with a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience. Knowledge of relevant Energy & Construction products preferred but not required. Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced, high-intensity work environment with effective task prioritization. Collaborative team player. Willing to take initiative, function independently, and maintain high ethical standards. Strong attention to detail. Existing relationships with brokers in targeted segments. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Effective negotiation skills with the ability to find “win/win” solutions. Commitment to customer service as a differentiator. Judgment and decision-making skills, using logic and objectivity. Ability to develop sound underwriting views to take calculated risks with favorable outcomes. Understanding of compliance with internal and external management and regulatory controls. Ability to maintain and develop market knowledge including competitor profiles and products. Ability to establish and maintain sound relationships internally and externally. Understanding of the insurance industry and specific product portfolios. Analytical skills to articulate, analyze, and solve complex problems for key business decisions.
