Senior UK Tax Manager - Mid January 2025 Start Date - 6 Month Contract - Remote Working

Our client is a global insurance brokerage business based in London, who are looking for an interim senior tax manager to lead UK tax reporting, compliance, and advisory functions, supporting the business and broader tax team.

You will act as the primary UK tax advisory contact for significant projects, including treasury tax matters and group restructuring. Develop and manage UK cash tax forecasting models and deferred tax processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the quarterly tax reporting process under IFRS for a complex group structure with numerous UK entities.
  2. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely UK tax reports for leadership.
  3. Act as the UK tax technical advisor for treasury-related tax matters and major restructuring initiatives.
  4. Prepare and review group-wide Corporate Interest Restriction (CIR) returns and related documentation using Alphatax.
  5. Maintain expertise in UK tax legislation to ensure compliance and accuracy in all UK tax filings.
  6. Draft corporate tax computations and deferred tax calculations using Alphatax for assigned entities.
  7. Manage the preparation of corporate tax disclosures for statutory accounts, ensuring alignment with tax accounting standards.
  8. Calculate and review quarterly UK tax instalments and payments.
  9. Support the integration of newly acquired entities into the group, including establishing initial tax positions.
  10. Maintain and update Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) compliance documentation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Professional tax and/or accountancy qualifications (e.g., CTA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  2. Able to start employment by Mid-January 2025.
  3. Extensive experience in UK tax compliance and reporting, particularly using Alphatax.
  4. Strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation and its application in a corporate environment, preferably Financial Services.
  5. Expertise in IFRS and FRS101 tax accounting, including preparation of provisions, tax disclosures, and working with auditors.
  6. Proficiency in Excel, with experience developing financial models.
  7. Demonstrated ability to provide tax advisory support, particularly in relation to treasury operations and group restructurings.
  8. Familiarity with deferred tax and cash tax forecasting processes.
