Overview The Senior Youth Worker plays a pivotal role in supporting and guiding young people through their personal and social development. This position involves supervising and mentoring youth in various settings, fostering a safe and inclusive environment that encourages growth, learning, and positive behaviour. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a passion for youth development, and the ability to lead by example. Duties The young people engage in the mentoring process and choose to make safe choices. The young people remain in education and have an improved attendance, behaviour, and achievement. A programme of workshops, activities, and residentials is developed to engage young people and move them from being service beneficiaries to service deliverers. You develop a positive reputation with the young people, parents, schools, and the community on the estates we work on. Information, advice, and guidance is provided to young people. Parents, schools, and other professionals are engaged to provide the best support team for the young people. All young people engaged continue in the programme and attend all the mentoring sessions. All paperwork is collated and evidence is collected on time and in line with our funders' requirements. The schools we work with are willing to buy additional company services. All activities reflect the standards and values of the company. Other staff are assisted with the delivery of other programmes as and when needed. young people with borderline or undiagnosed mental health issues. Skills & Abilities Ability to use database packages. Additional interests that could be used to run activities for young people, e.g., sports, film, music, etc. Knowledge An interest in issues relating to teaching and learning. An understanding of CAMHS. Qualifications Degree level qualification in Youth Work or equivalent. Experience Minimum of two years’ working with challenging young people in a full-time paid capacity. Particular experience of working with young people with borderline or undiagnosed mental health issues

OR

those at risk of serious youth violence. Managing safeguarding incidents. Detached youth work. Delivering positive activities/youth clubs. Qualification Minimum Level 3 youth work qualification or equivalent with Level 2 in English. Level 2 in English & Maths. Essential Skills & Abilities Ability to develop relationships within secondary schools with all staff. Ability to work well in a team and on own initiative. Ability to manage young people in a one-to-one and group setting. Ability to relate, empathise, and support disaffected young people in order to encourage development. Ability to organise own workload, meet output targets, and work under pressure while keeping accurate ongoing learner records and reviews. Excellent communication skills. Basic understanding of office systems and operations. Willingness and ability to be flexible. Job Type: Full-time Work Location: In person
