Senior/Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer sought at a fast-growing SME Remediation Contractor. This role is based in Stockport. Overview Our client is one of the fastest growing, technically qualified and respected remediation contractors in the North of England. They provide a range of services to the construction industry, including desk studies and site investigation, enabling works, contaminated land remediation, geo-environmental consultancy and sustainable demolition. As you work towards a directorship, this technical lead role will encompass a range of responsibilities associated with the operational and technical delivery of both site and office-based work. You will have senior level experience in contaminated land assessment, earthworks / ground engineering specifications and have commercial flair. Occasionally you may be required to plan and undertake site work depending on available resources. Most work will be within the Northwest, but some work further afield may be required. This role also involves recruiting, developing and managing a small consulting team. Responsibilities Technical lead of the business Delivering technical works for the contaminated land consultancy & remediation contracting part of the business (typically phase 1 & 2 reports, remediation strategy & validation/ verification works). Occasionally required to plan and undertake site work depending on available resources. Most works will be within the Northwest; some work further afield may be required Management & development of junior staff Work winning & commercial aptitude Site Investigation, Sampling and testing Report writing & peer review Ability to communicate confidently to a broad range of stakeholders Subcontractor selection and management Delivery of projects safely and within budget Requirements A Relevant Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology 7-12 years’ background within the geotechnical, remediation and/or geo-environmental consultancy industries Background working on construction sites to a high standard of health and safety First class analytical and technical writing abilities are important Chemical analysis interpretation for risk assessment Waste classification (Haz waste online) Production of Method Statements and Risk / COSHH Assessments QP, Materials Management Plan, Exemptions & Permitting Excellent verbal communication skills A flexible and collaborative attitude to solving problems in a non-hierarchal environment Full valid UK driving licence On offer Salary £45,000 – £65,000 Depending on experience Discretionary Bonus 33 days Holiday (including bank holidays) Pension Scheme (4%) Private Healthcare Death in Service Income Protection 45p/mile (private car) Salary Sacrifice EV scheme Potential for flexible working by arrangement To apply for the position of
