Geotechnical | Geo-Environmental | Environmental Impact Assessment | Compliance Audit | Environmental Due Diligence | Urban Regeneration Strategies Our contaminated land and remediation services include Phase 1 Assessments, Phase 2 intrusive investigations and the design, supervision and / or construction management of remediation. We also have a research and innovation team which works with our clients to explore innovative and cost effective solutions for brownfield sites. Purpose and Objectives
To contribute to the growth of the land quality team by managing the delivery of projects in the fields of soil and groundwater investigation, contaminated land assessment and site remediation using appropriate technical skills. Duties and Responsibilities
To support existing environment and remediation teams in undertaking both office based work and site visits Design and project management of Phase 2 intrusive investigations including data collation and checking, preparation of test schedules, writing of contamination risk assessments and remediation strategies with all associated client liaison. Project management of factual intrusive investigations from inception through to preparation and delivery of report Site investigation sampling/field manager/supervision of contractors – to undertake field based work including supervision and management of site investigations including third party contractors – preparation of accurate site records Remediation projects – to manage appraisals and design of remediation projects, with subsequent supervision of remediation works on site To work closely with current and new clients to meet their exact needs on projects To undertake technical tasks within existing and new projects to produce reports on time to the required quality and budget Be up to date with current environmental legislation in particular related to groundwater, surface water and contaminated land To undertake interpretative technical reporting and analysis of results from investigations and remediation projects – attention to detail and accuracy is required To work well within a team environment Experience Required
3-5+ years’ experience within the industry required. Qualifications Required
Degree in: Geology (with environmental science/contaminated land modules), Hydrogeology, or Environmental Science Preferred: Hydrogeology or Geology with a significant number of Hydrogeology modules, Geochemistry or Environmental Science focussed on contaminated land investigation and assessment Person Profile
Accept and deal with responsibility for project delivery and client liaison Excellent written and oral communication skills Flexibility Teamwork Self-confidence Able and willing to work and stay away from base office, potentially for extended periods, to support project delivery including overseas Happy to work outdoors Live in close proximity of the Newcastle office (half hour commute) or be happy to relocate Must hold full clean UK driving licence or equivalent – confidence in driving larger vehicles such as vans and pickups will be helpful Very competitive and negotiable dependant upon experience.
