A Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer position has come available in Portsmouth to help a Technical Director build on the design team leading delivery of extremely complicated and high value coastal, flood and water schemes incorporating rail and infrastructure.
As a Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer, you will be situated within a talented ground engineering design team working in collaboration with the wider civil and structural engineers to deliver a range of D&B projects. Recent examples include complicated coastal developments, cliff stabilisation, cliff analysis and detailed design across huge embankments, retaining walls and sheet piles.
You will come in as a Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer, sit within the southern Geotechnical department helping with all aspects of technical delivery, commercial management and team development/growth.
The role involves both design and build which offers both conceptual to detailed design with the opportunity to supervise implementation on site.
Senior Geotechnical Engineer Specification:
Degree educated in Civil Engineering or Geology but with a design background. Chartered or approaching chartership. Extensive geotechnical detailed design experience within the UK. Design capabilities across foundations, piles, retaining walls, temp works, embankments, slopes, micro tunnels etc. The use of all geotechnical software including FE. Ability to write all Geotechnical related reports. Ideally experience within the water industry but not essential.
