Our client has an opportunity for a Senior or Principal Structural Engineer to join their team and work out of their Aberdeen office, on either a Staff or Contract basis. Operating in a technical, challenging and diverse environment, the role will involve working with various engineering projects. The role will be responsible for supporting the execution of structural design scopes with tenders and live projects currently in execution. You will be an expert in the field of structural engineering and analysis of offshore and subsea structures. Key attributes required for this position are: Extensive experience in the structural engineering and analysis of offshore and subsea steel structures Extensive experience in seafastening, lift rigging and installation aid design Chartered or approaching Chartered Engineer status What will you be doing? Provide specialist skills, integrity and knowledge in key areas of subsea structures engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practice Undertake responsibility for production of deliverables, which may include preparation and checking of design reports, engineering support to Drawing Office, design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports and various third party submissions Design and detailing in accordance with acknowledged industry codes, standards and design guidelines, client specification and scopes of work Production and checking of design documentation including feasibility reports, detailed design reports, equipment specification etc. Production of specification, data sheets and MTOs Provide stress analysis for various subsea structures, utilizing STAAD Pro, FS2000, ANSYS and ABAQUS or similar software Provide specialist structural engineering assistance during occasional periods of site working Provide specialist structural support to Business Acquisition and FEED study execution Train/mentor junior and graduate engineers What experience would we like you to have? Degree qualified or above in a relevant Engineering Discipline Structural subsea experience in a similar role Experience of production and checking of design documentation Knowledge/use of STAAD Pro, FS2000, ANSYS and ABAQUS or similar software Ability to lead and function with a design team and across multiple projects Can work to deadlines set by management Identifies industry codes, standards and design guidelines Deliver stress analysis work on projects Ability to support package engineering and management
