Position Overview:
We are searching for a dedicated Senior/Subcontractor Manager to deliver excellent support to our offshore wind projects through close management of a wide blue-collar subcontractor portfolio. In this role, you will be part of a dedicated team of Subcontractor Managers (SBMs) located in different offshore hubs, including the US. You will be directly involved in sourcing manpower under work package or time & material models on assigned projects, combining strategic supplier management with direct project operational responsibilities. You will report to the Team Lead SBM, based in Vejle, Denmark.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the management of 3rd party subcontractors in the US and selected projects globally, ensuring alignment with our global project pipeline.
Negotiating contracts with subcontractors in cooperation with Procurement, ensuring suitable technical coverage in terms of profiles and requirements.
Overseeing contract management and administration for your region/projects, including statement of work definition, project purchasing order calculation, and updating project boards.
Serving as the primary commercial point of contact for subcontractors in your region/projects, in collaboration with the Operations Manager and Team lead.
Implementing the subcontractor strategy for your geographic area, including subcontractor allocation split.
Defining the scope of works for pre-assembly outsourcing activities in cooperation with the project team and the SBM Team.
Leading clarification meetings and lessons learned for contractor lump sum projects.
Monitoring and reporting performance and quality through input to the annual Balanced Scorecard Meetings with subcontractors.
Required Knowledge/ Skills, Education, and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
Overall 7-10 yrs experience and at least 3-5 years in a procurement role, preferably in the energy sector.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
Ability to work in a remote team scenario with members located in different regions.
Flexibility with working time and location, and the ability to handle pressure and make independent decisions.
Availability to travel as required (approximately 20 days per year).
