Overall Objective: The Sensory Science team is a diverse team within the Fragrance S&T function, providing expertise and project support to business and research platforms. An opportunity has arisen for a sensory scientist to join our team with a focus on method development and research project management for the Fabric Care category. You will be reporting to the Head of Sensory Science. Main Responsibilities: You will work on projects for the Fabric Care category and manage the research sensory testing required in this category. Important responsibilities include: Manage the sensory testing required for research and proactive business projects in the Fabric Care category. Design, build and analyse sensory tests using the trained sensory panel. Develop new Fabric Care sensory protocols to answer evolving global consumer touch points and challenges. Develop the methodology toolbox for the Fabric Care category, looking for and assessing methodologies which bring innovation to the sensory team. Apply expert knowledge in the area of sensory science to implement new methodologies and ways of working. Partner with the business and research teams ensuring work is following the business and research strategy. Collaboration with the Global Sensory Science team to ensure understanding of best working practices. Ensure a safe laboratory and office working environment. Essential Functional / Technical Skills: Sensory experience with practical knowledge of sensory evaluation methods and its role in supporting product development and optimization. Interpret findings and make recommendations based on results. Experience in developing new sensory protocols. Experience with sensory software, EyeQuestion & FIZZ preferable, and statistical analysis. Excellent report writing and presentation skills. A detail-oriented individual, who can contribute to a team environment. Ability to prioritize tasks and to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously. People and project management experience desirable. Knowledge of the Fabric Care category desirable. Qualifications: A relevant degree in science, preferably with sensory science modules.
