are a successful niche Legal Practice based in Manchester. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Solicitor to join our Serious Injury/Clinical Negligence team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role would be suitable for a qualified solicitor with 5-10 years PQE, who has significant recent multi-track experience.

The Solicitor will be responsible for the successful management of a caseload of serious injury/clinical negligence matters from inception to conclusion.

The position can be remote (home), office-based, or a combination of the two. Office attendance is required a minimum of one day per month; therefore, the willingness and ability to travel to Manchester on a monthly basis is a mandatory requirement.

Duties: Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Support the Team Leader in the day-to-day running of the department and provide assistance to colleagues within the team as required. Assess liability and quantum, including reviewing medical reports and researching and obtaining relevant case law. Maximise personal billings to achieve appropriate billing performance targets meeting the income budget and/or forecast for the department. Manage a caseload as required to achieve both the above while providing excellent client care. Regular communication and face-to-face meetings with clients, ensuring that an excellent level of client service is achieved. Instructions and meetings with a multi-disciplinary team of experts, for example, medical experts, case managers, care experts, architects, forensic accountants, and counsel. Analysis of evidence and research of legal issues on liability, causation, and quantum. Draft documents including statements, pleadings, and schedules of loss. Secure early interim payments and appropriate rehabilitation. Demonstrate strong commercial awareness and business acumen. Ensure that write-offs and issues with suppliers are kept to an absolute minimum. Use the Proclaim system in accordance with the firm’s policy and assist more junior staff in the proficient use of the system as required. Exhibit outstanding fee-earning skills and technical ability in RTA/ELPL/Clinical Negligence.
