We have completed a series of acquisitions over the last two years that have added significant scale, capabilities and products and plan to continue to grow organically and through further acquisitions. As a result, we now need to recruit an additional accounts payable administrator to join the team. Role Overview: As a Server and Network Engineer, you will provide comprehensive support services to our clients, ensuring their IT infrastructure and systems remain fully operational. This role involves proactively identifying, investigating, and resolving technical incidents and problems and restoring service to clients by managing incidents through to resolution. Reporting to the 2nd Line Team Leader, your responsibilities will include a mix of proactive monitoring and maintenance, support and provisioning of new services. In addition to IT support, you will also provide network support to clients. Familiarity with Meraki, Fortinet, Zyxel, and Sonicwall network technologies is essential. Experience in an MSP support role is crucial. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a strong desire to continue learning and developing their technical skills. Responsibilities: The Server and Network Engineer will ensure our clients' IT infrastructure remains secure, resilient, and high performing. Key Responsibilities Include: Monitoring and managing servers and network infrastructure for a client base of over 250 companies. Designing and implementing patch management schedules, and overseeing daily patching activities. Managing and improving client network performance while ensuring security and compliance with best practices. Acting as the escalation point for Priority 1 (P1) incidents involving servers and networks. Collaborating with technical teams to resolve issues, enhance infrastructure, and maintain exceptional service delivery. Working with real-time alerting systems to address and mitigate issues proactively. Maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date documentation, sharing insights across teams. Requirements: We’re looking for candidates with solid experience in server and network engineering who can demonstrate: Network & Server Expertise: Strong knowledge of network infrastructure hardware, including firewalls, switches, and access points (e.g., Fortigate, Cisco, Palo Alto, HPE, Zyxel). Proficiency in Windows Server OS and roles, including Active Directory and Group Policy. Expertise in virtualisation technologies, especially Hyper-V, with experience in: Replication Clustering Failover/Load Balancing Hands-on experience with storage solutions (NAS, SAN, DAS). Backup and restore processes. Network configuration, troubleshooting, and automation via scripting (e.g., PowerShell). Advanced firewall configuration (e.g., ACLs, NAT/PAT, routing). Deep understanding of networking concepts, such as DNS, DHCP, IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, and VPNs (Point-to-Site, Site-to-Site including Azure). Cybersecurity: Experience with network monitoring (e.g., SNMP), security protocols, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Proficient in vulnerability management and cyber hygiene. Soft Skills: Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Accuracy, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of documentation. Experience with ticketing systems and adherence to structured processes. Experience with monitoring systems like Automate, N-Able, SolarWinds, or Datto RMM. Linux server administration and SQL database management. Experience with SOC/SIEM systems, SSL certificate management, or Cyber Essentials audits. Familiarity with deploying security platforms (e.g., antivirus, EDR, vulnerability scanning).
