We have completed a series of acquisitions over the last two years that have added significant scale, capabilities and products and plan to continue to grow organically and through further acquisitions. As a result, we now need to recruitment an additional Server and Security Engineer to join the team. Role Overview: We are now recruiting for a highly skilled and organised Server and Security Engineer to join our team. This critical role combines expertise in server management with cybersecurity to ensure the robust and secure operation of our IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will manage and secure server environments, ensuring compliance with best practices and regulatory standards while providing high-quality support to internal and external stakeholders. As a Server and Security Engineer, you will act as an ambassador for FluidOne, working across teams to ensure effective communication on server and security-related matters. This role involves proactive problem-solving, implementing security improvements, and managing critical infrastructure to deliver a seamless experience to end users. Server Management: Monitor, maintain, and optimise server infrastructure, including on-premises and cloud environments (e.g., Azure). Perform regular system updates, backups, and patch management to ensure performance and security. Troubleshoot server-related issues and implement robust solutions to minimise downtime. Cybersecurity: Implement and manage security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus solutions. Conduct vulnerability assessments and mitigate risks by applying security patches and updates. Monitor and respond to security incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures. Collaboration and Reporting: As part of the 2nd Line team, you will work closely with the Service Desk, Technical Delivery team, and external customers to resolve issues and implement improvements. Develop and maintain detailed documentation for server configurations, security protocols, and incident responses. Create regular reporting and propose service improvement plans focused on security and infrastructure performance. Incident and Change Management: Lead efforts in managing major incidents related to server or security issues. Participate in planning and execution of server migrations, upgrades, and other infrastructure projects. Requirements: Proven experience in server administration and cybersecurity within an IT Sector/MSP environment. Strong knowledge of server technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, etc.) and cloud platforms (Azure). Hands-on experience with security tools and protocols. Familiarity with ITIL processes and standards. Demonstrated ability to manage and secure hybrid IT environments. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex technical information to prepare and present actionable insights. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Self-motivated, adaptable, and a team player with a passion for delivering secure and reliable IT services. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Security+, or CISSP are advantageous.
