Service Delivery Manager (Managed Practices)

This is a key role in being responsible for ensuring the efficient, effective and sustainable delivery of General Medical Services to those patients that are registered with a Health Board Managed Practice, specifically overseeing the day to day management of the Practice. The post holder will need to be able to demonstrate a relevant track record in delivery of safe and effective patient care, team management and excellent organisational skills with an ambition to drive service change and modernisation that ensures that the Managed Practice is working to national and local policies as well as adhering to the terms and have a clear understanding of the Unified GMS contract that Practices across Wales are expected to deliver. Main Duties of the Job

The post holder will have a designated Managed Practice for which they have operational and managerial responsibility of the services they deliver and the day to day operational running of the establishment. They will also hold a lead area of expertise which will extend across all of the Health Board Managed Practices. Examples could be: Contractual Requirements and Annual Return/toolkit Submissions Finance, budgets and premises Information and Clinical Governance Enhanced Services Commissioning and Claiming Human Resources and Recruitment Concerns Handling The post holder will have overall operational line-management responsibility of all the staff employed at their designated Practice and will have professional support in managing Clinical members of the team. The successful candidate will be accountable to the GMS Business Manager and Head of GMS in reporting staff compliance, payroll, escalation of patient concerns, practice reporting/claims and when requested be accountable for information or data that may be requested from relevant Health Board Colleagues. The successful candidate will be expected to work autonomously within their own remit and to seek guidance from other supportive departments within the organisation when the need arises. About Us

Educated to Masters degree level, or equivalent level of knowledge gained through experience Continuous Professional Development ECDL Experience

Experience of working with primary care general medical practices Experience of budget setting and monitoring financial position Experience of providing and receiving highly complex, sensitive and contentious information Experience of developing and implementing strategic plans Experience of working in partnership with other organisations Experience of managing staff and team working Experienced NHS Business Manager Language Skills
