Service Design Architect UK

Location:

Derby/Bristol/Hybrid

Job Type:

Full-time

We have an opportunity for you to join an exciting, dynamic, delivery-focused team in Digital and IT at Rolls-Royce responsible for defining the Service Strategy and Design of all new services and applications across the UK including the UK defence sector.

As the UK Service Design Architect, you will be working as part of a small team responsible for identifying the Supply Chain partners and service models for all new services in the UK. This is a great role for an individual with a strong delivery focus and experience in designing and contracting service delivery arrangements with blue-chip providers and bringing them into production alongside our Solution and Enterprise architects and Project Teams.

As the single UK-focused member of the team, you will be a UK national with significant experience in Service (as opposed to solution) design and ITIL disciplines.

What you will be doing:

Own the service design across the IT supply chains for all UK systems and ensure that what is designed meets the business service needs.

Ensure all new contracted services have been designed for availability and comply with all Secure by Design Principles. Review and support the development of Solution Architectures and Technical Architectures to assure compliance with NIST and other standards.

Create Service Design documentation and implement and test service processes for all new applications and services in the UK, including Defence, and manage the Enterprise services.

Provide implementation guidance based on best practices throughout the life cycle of projects.

Who we’re looking for:

Demonstrable IT service architecture experience and a service-oriented approach with an ITIL or similar qualification in Service Management.

Hands-on experience of service towers including compute, networking, storage, and database and cloud services.

Knowledge of recommended best practices and demonstrable experience for building secure and reliable service platform solutions (on-premise, cloud, PaaS, SaaS, etc.).

Extensive experience in Service Design.

SC clearance.
