Our client is a leading supplier and manufacturer. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Service Engineer. The role offers an interesting and varied experience with the main duties including:
Attending customer sites to install, commission, service, and repair a range of blasting equipment.
Providing detailed and accurate reports on the condition of the customers' equipment, following onsite machine examinations.
Investigating/identifying machine problems in emergency breakdown situations, both mechanically and electrically.
Identifying situations while on site where productivity or efficiency improvements to equipment can be recommended to the customer.
Essential Requirements:
Full Driving License.
Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
Good communication skills, both customer-facing and with internal/external staff.
Flexible working approach, which will include some weekend and unsociable working hours along with some overnight stays.
Average working week of 45 to 55 hours, occasionally up to 70 hours, with overseas work in Ireland required. Our current team earns on average £45k to £60k p/a. The hourly rate is based on experience and ranges from £12.30 to £15 per hour.
Skill Set:
Mechanical engineering
Basic electrical knowledge
Fitting, welding, and basic fabrication on site (Renewal and repair).
Training Courses Provided/Certificates Needed:
Confined Space - 1 day course
Mobile Access - 1 day course
Forklift GHR TITTB Novice - 3 day course
Welding - 1 day course
Package:
Contracted hours are 40 hours, 8am to 4:30pm.
22 days holiday + bank holidays paid.
Out of hours working including out of hours travel are paid at time and 1/3rd.
Saturday working is paid at time and 1/3rd all day (no working Sundays).
Expenses include hotels, breakfast allowance, lunch allowance, and evening meal allowance dependent on arrival home time, a standard for overnight.
Government backed Pension is provided.
Van for company use with fuel card.
All tools required and PPE are provided.
All certification courses for safe working are provided (e.g., FLT/IPAF/Confined Space).
