We now have a vacancy for a Service Engineer to cover the South-West regions of Somerset, Devon and Dorset. As a Service Engineer, you’ll be our go-to expert for maintaining, commissioning, and upgrading sewage and water-related systems. You’ll draw on your hands-on experience with sewage treatment plants, water filtration, pumping stations, and sanitisation systems to scope, lead and deliver MEP projects. Working independently, you’ll complete planned and reactive maintenance of systems, diagnose faults and possible failures, keep meticulous records, and ensure systems perform at their best. From inspecting sites to commissioning new and refurbished systems, your knack for problem-solving and client-focused project management will help us deliver top-notch service to our domestic and commercial customers. This is a full time permanent position with a salary of up to £40,000 depending on background and experience. The working hours are 8am -4pm or 8:30am – 4:30pm with no on call hours except Christmas. There will be travel involved and some overnight stays so a valid driving license will be required. The role:

Meet clients and engage in a larger context by asking questions and engaging in the bigger picture, keeping them updated throughout. Complete domestic jobs and checks of all functions and operations of new systems. Liaise with other engineers and departments on jobs. Define project briefs from client information. Carry out monitoring of performance including field tests, lab samples, smoke testing etc. Systematic and thorough diagnosis of faults and possible failures of systems. The candidate:

Previous experience in a Service Engineer role. Understanding of electrics would be advantageous. A confident communicator who is not afraid to ask questions. Someone who is willing to get stuck in and go the extra mile. A team player who can work in collaboration with other departments. Someone who is organised and can prioritise effectively.
