We operate a bilingual policy. All applicants are invited to apply in Welsh; any application submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application made in English. We are seeking to recruit a Service Support Officer to join the Corporate Service Support team on a full-time permanent basis. The role will provide an agile administrative support function to support the delivery of Council services. About the Role: The Service Support Officer will support the Council’s Through Age Wellbeing (TAW) model, primarily with the Targeted Care and Enablement and the Extended Support teams. The Targeted Care and Enablement team provides a short intensive enablement service for people with disabilities and those who are frail and recovering from illness or injury. The team focuses on helping people to restore an optimum level of independent functioning and those that have ongoing needs of care and assistance. The Extended Support Team provides specialist support for people with disabilities, both children and adults. The team’s main aim is to ensure those living with disabilities have the support needed to maintain independence and resilience in their day-to-day life. They can provide short-term and long-term intervention as well as signposting to relevant services. You will be expected to undertake various administration duties, including dealing with telephone calls, inputting and extracting information from IT systems, handling incoming and outgoing correspondence, minute taking, as well as many other activities associated with a busy office environment. On a typical working day, you could expect to be processing referrals, creating and sending contracts to agencies, collating data, inputting case notes into specialised systems, and processing documents required for agencies to commence packages of care. About the Candidate: The candidate will need to be flexible and adaptable as there will be a requirement for the postholder to move between teams dependent on service needs and to manage increased workloads and provide cover for other team members. The candidate will need to be helpful and understand the importance of providing good customer service. The opportunity would suit someone with a methodical approach to work, good attention to detail, and excellent IT skills. As a minimum requirement for the Welsh language, the successful candidate must have the ability to understand and contribute to a conversation with internal staff and the general public and be able to understand basic Welsh written correspondence. We believe work-life balance is very important. To support you in achieving this, you will have access to the following discretionary benefits: Hybrid Working:

Subject to certain conditions being met, you may choose to work from home or in an office location. Flexi-time:

Hours may be worked within a defined bandwidth, Monday to Friday, subject to service needs. Note: We reserve the right to extend the application closing date. What we offer
