Opportunity

Textron GSE is seeking a Service Technician who will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, servicing, and commissioning of GSE equipment. You will ideally be located within proximity to Heathrow airport, and due to the nature and responsibilities of the role, you will be required to travel. Textron GSE develops, produces, maintains and supplies a range of Douglas, TUG and Safeaero vehicles to customers all over the world. As a Service Technician, you are an ambassador for the Company and have a responsibility to solve any issues the customers encounter.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Carrying out service work for customers, i.e. at airports and for airlines across Europe;

Being responsible for the repair, maintenance, servicing, and commissioning of GSE equipment;

Responsibility for the final configuration and testing of vehicles before they are returned to the end customer;

Supporting customers and in-house departments, including Engineering and Sales;

Providing technical support to customers and in-house colleagues, and communicating with staff at all levels;

Travelling to customer sites;

Ensuring guidelines and standards of work expected by Textron Sweden are understood and met.

Ensuring follow up work requirements are referred to the appropriate departments within Textron Sweden to enable necessary action and recommendations to clients.

Maintaining a professional approach and manner at all times, consistent with customer and Company expectations.

Setting a good example to colleagues by observing and obeying all Company rules and regulations, complying with all site regulations, and safeguarding Company property;

Setting a good example to colleagues by completing all necessary Company documentation punctually and in accordance with any guidelines or schedules issued (including staff expenses claims, site reports, etc.);

Attending all training courses and meetings as required by Textron Sweden;

Providing support and co-operation to management and colleagues;

Being prepared and willing to always help and contribute to the success of the company.

Observing and adhering to Company Health and Safety guidelines.

Qualifications

You should have a relevant technical qualification (e.g. in Engineering);

Proven 'hands on' experience working in a service/maintenance position;

System knowledge and an understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics, and the ability to read drawings;

Ability to give technical direction and product training;

Clean UK driving licence;

You must be willing to travel, which could include up to 150 days with customers;

Experience of engaging with customers in a pressurized environment;

You should be able to read and understand electrical/mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic drawings and diagrams;

Ability to document your work;

Competent with MS Office, and able to upload and download specialist software;

Commercial awareness and an ability to communicate at all levels regarding technical matters;

Ability to prioritise takes effectively, and to work under pressure.
